Mindful Vinyasa Yoga

"Vinyasa" is derived from the Sanskrit term nyasa, which means "to place," and the prefix vi, "in a special way" thus references continuous movement or a flowing sequence of specific postures (asanas) coordinated with the breath. A more active and dynamic practice, vinyasa incorporates creative sequencing with series of poses known as "Sun Salutations". (75 min)

Yin Yoga

Yin offers a slower, more meditative counterpart to more dynamic and muscular intense forms (yang) styles of exercise and yoga. Passive seated and supine postures are held longer (generally 3-5 minutes) to target connective tissues such as the ligaments, fascia, bones and even joints of the body (mainly knees, pelvis, sacrum and spine) and encourage deep release of contraction held in the tissues. Focus on breath and awareness of sensation that arise during postures promote a meditative state and challenges threshold for stillness in mind and body. (75 min)

Restorative Yoga

Having roots in the yoga tradition of B.K.S Iyengar, restorative yoga invites students to practice without any strain or pain. Restorative makes it easier for the body to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation by utilizing props to completely support the body in longer held postures and allow for passive stretching. It is the perfect antidote to stress and ideal for those new to yoga or recovering from injury or illness. (75 min)

Meditation

The practice of meditation cultivates a deep awareness of your body, mind and deepest Self to promote relaxation, manage stress, and supports understanding of individual and universal consciousness. Meditation offers a variety of techniques to explore inner awareness with gentle attention to feelings, sensations and thoughts that one encounters throughout the many layers of experience and bring consciousness to personal beliefs and patterns of thought and behavior. An on-going meditation practice offers a roadmap to develop the "witness self," which is the ability to sense or feel whatever is arising in a given moment and bearing witness to the experience at the same time without grasping, resisting or contracting; simply moving through life with a greater sense of presence, compassion, clarity, peace and wholeness. (30-60 min)

The class was GREAT. I felt fantastic and energized all day. I slept like a baby. Had the best nights sleep in days.
